John Deere has shown its prowess for revolutionizing the power equipment industry since it first attached a front blade to a Model M tractor in 1947, essentially creating the first bulldozer. Now, the company has extended its reach into the power equipment market, manufacturing top-of-the-line scrapers that have changed the way earth is moved.
The John Deere Scraper System offers an independent land-moving and leveling solution that requires only one operator, but can still load, transport and spread materials across a work site. Current self-propelled excavators and dump trucks cost roughly two-thirds higher than John Deere's scraper and require double the labor, making the John Deere's Fixed-Blade Ejector Scapers one of the most productive assets in a power equipment fleet.
John Deere Scrapers offer six different cutting blades that vary in length and width for ultimate usability in diverse terrain. Blade support utilizes six-inch bolt spacing that enables the operator to mount different attachments into the configuration depending on the soil conditions, making them the only scrapers available to offer this range of flexibility.
When fully loaded, a John Deere Scraper provides 40 percent more flotation than comparable earth-moving equipment, with additional 20.5, 23.5, and 26.5 scraper-tire options that allow for increased load-carrying capacity and work to ease rolling resistance in tougher conditions. Heavy-duty breaks were designed and installed onto the machine for safe and effective scraping on steep inclines. The state-of-the-art system reduces dependency on the pulling tractor's break system, enabling shorter stopping even when loaded to capacity.
The scraper was designed with steep-angled walls that enhance its ability to handle thicker, heavier soils, while the floor was made to be thicker at the blade and thinner in the back of the pan, allowing for greater strength where it is needed and convenient rear back clearance.
When pulling, it is essential for scrapers to maximize visibility. Deere's scraper features a large throat opening, a high lift gate and a high cross-tube front frame that give an operator impressive visibility to the blade's edge and bowl's contents. With a pivoting front frame, the scraper will automatically do all of the necessary raising and lowering, providing for a quick response time and an aggressive cutting angle.
